An alternative study devoid of n-BuOH yielded two additional novel norlignans, 3''-dehydroxynyasiceside (4) and 1-O-methylnyasicoside (5), in addition to 3. The pharmacological studies indicated that 1 and 3 possessed potent activity against ouabain-induced arrhythmia in the heart preparations of guinea pig.
