The oil is soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform, acetone, benzene, and carbon disulfide, and is combustible. The main component of the oil is bornyl acetate, along with other bornyl esters, terpene and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, and free isovaleric acid, which contributes to the oil's odor. Indian valerian oil, produced from the roots of Valeriana wallichii DC., has a musky, woody, balsamic, and earthy odor. Indian jatamansi oil is obtained from the Valerianaceae species Nardostachys grandiflora DC. Valerian oil is produced in limited quantities and is used in flavor and fragrance compositions only in very low dosages.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 8008-88-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 8,0,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 8008-88:
(6*8)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*8)=96
96 % 10 = 6
So 8008-88-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
