Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 4631-97-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 4,6,3 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 4631-97:
(6*4)+(5*6)+(4*3)+(3*1)+(2*9)+(1*7)=94
94 % 10 = 4
So 4631-97-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

SYNTHESIS OF BRANCHED-CHAIN ALIPHATIC DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS.

Krestinina,Koshel',Chabutkina,Antonova,Migachev

, p. 2138 - 2142 (2007/10/02)

A technically acceptable method for the preparation of branched-chain aliphatic dicarboxylic acids containing at least 3-4 carbon atoms in the side chain has been examined. The principal physicochemical properties of the acids obtained have been determined. It has been shown that increasing the size of the alkyl substituent in the cyclohexanol has no effect on the type of dicarboxylic acid formed.
