66063-05-6 Usage

Description

N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea, also known as Pencycuron, is a urea-based fungicide specifically developed to target plant pathogens such as Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. It is a non-systemic phenyl urea herbicide that acts by inhibiting cell division in the targeted pathogens. Pencycuron is not highly toxic to mammals but is moderately toxic to birds, most aquatic organisms, honeybees, and earthworms.

Uses

Used in Agricultural Applications:
Pencycuron is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in various crops. It is effective against these pathogens in potatoes, rice (sheath blight), cotton, sugar beet, vegetables, ornamentals, and turf. The fungicide can be applied to foliage or incorporated into the soil to provide protection against the targeted diseases.
Used in Potato Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in potatoes. This helps in reducing crop losses and improving the overall yield and quality of the potatoes.
Used in Rice Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling sheath blight in rice. This application helps in protecting the rice crop from the damaging effects of the sheath blight disease, ensuring better crop health and increased productivity.
Used in Cotton Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in cotton. This application aids in maintaining the health of the cotton crop and reducing the impact of these diseases on the overall yield and quality of the cotton.
Used in Sugar Beet Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in sugar beets. This application helps in protecting the sugar beet crop from the damaging effects of these diseases, ensuring better crop health and increased sugar yield.
Used in Vegetable Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in various vegetables. This application contributes to the overall health and productivity of the vegetable crops, reducing the impact of these diseases on the yield and quality of the vegetables.
Used in Ornamental Plant Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in ornamental plants. This application helps in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of ornamental plants, reducing the impact of these diseases on their overall appearance and growth.
Used in Turf Industry:
N-((4-Chlorophenyl)methyl)-N-cyclopentyl-N'-phenylurea is used as a fungicide for controlling diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Pellicularia spp. in turf grasses. This application contributes to the overall health and appearance of the turf, reducing the impact of these diseases on the turf's quality and longevity.

Metabolic pathway

The metabolic profiles of pencycuron in fungus, hydrolysis, mammals, photodecomposition, plants, and soils are illustrated. Both tolerant and sensitive fungal species Rhizoctonia solani metabolize pencycuron to give cis- and trans-3-hydroxycyclopentyl pencycurons which are less active than pencycuron.

Degradation

Pencycuron is a very stable compound. Its DT50 in water at pH 4 is 280 days and at pH values 7 and 9 the estimated DT50 values are 22 and 17 years, respectively. It is photolysed in water and on soil surfaces.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 66063-05-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,6,0,6 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 66063-05:
(7*6)+(6*6)+(5*0)+(4*6)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*5)=116
116 % 10 = 6
So 66063-05-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
