87081-36-5 Usage
Description
Leptomycin A is an antifungal antibiotic and a methyl analogue of leptomycin B, which is a minor component of the leptomycin complex produced by selected Streptomyces species. It is an inhibitor of CRM1 (exportin 1) that blocks CRM1 interaction with nuclear export signals, preventing the nuclear export of a broad range of proteins. Leptomycin A was originally identified as an antifungal agent and shows antimicrobial activity against Schizosaccaromyces pombe and Mucor rouxianus.
Uses
Used in Antifungal Applications:
Leptomycin A is used as an antifungal agent for its ability to inhibit the growth of certain fungi, such as Schizosaccaromyces pombe and Mucor rouxianus.
Used in Nuclear Transport Inhibition:
Leptomycin A is used as an inhibitor of CRM1 (exportin 1) for its ability to block CRM1 interaction with nuclear export signals, preventing the nuclear export of a broad range of proteins. This property may offer differences in exporter selectivity compared to leptomycin B.
Used in HIV-1 Replication Inhibition:
Leptomycin A is used as an inhibitor of Rev translocation, which is required for HIV-1 replication. Although it is less potent than leptomycin B, it still exhibits inhibitory effects on the export of Rev to the cytoplasm with an IC50 value of 0.8 nM after 7 hours.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 87081-36-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,7,0,8 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 87081-36:
(7*8)+(6*7)+(5*0)+(4*8)+(3*1)+(2*3)+(1*6)=145
145 % 10 = 5
So 87081-36-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
