Uses of 2-Bromo-2-methylbutyric acid: It can react with 2-methoxy-phenol to produce 2-(2-methoxy-phenoxy)-2-methyl-butyric acid. This reaction will need reagent 20% aq. NaOH. The reaction time is 12 hours with heating, and the yield is about 62.9%.
