Production method of this chemical: The 2-Tetradecanol could be obtained by the reactant of 2-Methoxymethoxy-tetradecane. This reaction needs the reagents of Dowex-50W-X2, aq. MeOH. The yield is 94 %. In addition, this reaction should be taken for 8 hours at heated condition.

Uses of this chemical: The 2-Tetradecanol could react with Phenyl tellurocyanate, and obtain the 2-Phenyltellanyl-tetradecane. This reaction needs the reagent of Tributylphosphine, and the solvent of CH2Cl2. The yield is 45 %. In addition, this reaction should be taken for 30 minutes at the ambient temperature.
