Preparation of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate: this chemical can be prepared by the reaction of Phthalic anhydride with 2-Ethylhexanol.

Uses of Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate: this chemical is used in manufacturing of articles made of PVC as a plasticizer widely. It is also used as a solvent in lightsticks. Furthermore, it can be used as a hydraulic fluid and as a dielectric fluid in capacitors.
