DIOLIC PHOSPHOLIPIDS. III. SYNTHESIS OF DIOLIC PHOSPHO- AND THIOPHOSPHOCHOLINES AND THEIR HOMODERIVATIVES
Phosphorylation of diols by trimethylene phosphonate according to Todd-Atherton leads to the formation of hydroxyalkyl trimethylene phosphonate. When chlorophosphites are added rapidly to the reaction mixture monophosphorylated diols are formed. The formation of a spiro structure was not observed under these conditions due to the stabilization of the phosphite form by benzene.Diolic phospho- and thiophosphocholines and their homoderivatives were synthesized from the monophosphodiols obtained.
