- Deep eutectic solvent-based ligandless ultrasound-assisted liquid-phase microextraction for extraction of cobalt ions from food samples prior to spectrophotometric determination
-
An innovative environmentally friendly deep eutectic solvent-based ligandless ultrasound-assisted liquid-phase microextraction was introduced for spectrophotometric determination of trace amount of cobalt. n-phenyliminodiacetic acid: choline chloride (2:1?mol ratio) as a novel DES was prepared for extraction of cobalt ions which is both as chelating agent and extraction solvent. The pivotal factors affecting the proposed method including pH, time, temperature, extraction solvent volume, ionic strength, and sample volume were investigated. At optimum conditions, limit of detection and limit of quantification of 5.23?μg?L?1 and 17.67?μg?L?1 were achieved respectively. The linear range of 20–200?μg?L?1 and precision (relative standard deviation %) of 3.4 for 100?μg?L?1 Co+2 solution were gained. The proposed method was successfully applied in water samples, tomato sauce, black and green tea, and dark chocolate with high recovery values (%) of 94–105.

- Synthesis of Dicarboxylic Acids from Aqueous Solutions of Diols with Hydrogen Evolution Catalyzed by an Iridium Complex
-
A catalytic system for the synthesis of dicarboxylic acids from aqueous solutions of diols accompanied by the evolution of hydrogen was developed. An iridium complex bearing a functional bipyridonate ligand with N,N-dimethylamino substituents exhibited a high catalytic performance for this type of dehydrogenative reaction. For example, adipic acid was synthesized from an aqueous solution of 1,6-hexanediol in 97 % yield accompanied by the evolution of four equivalents of hydrogen by the present catalytic system. It should be noted that the simultaneous production of industrially important dicarboxylic acids and hydrogen, which is useful as an energy carrier, was achieved. In addition, the selective dehydrogenative oxidation of vicinal diols to give α-hydroxycarboxylic acids was also accomplished.

- Design, synthesis and structure-activity relationship studies of morpholino-1H-phenalene derivatives that antagonize Mcl-1/Bcl-2
-
We report herein characteristic studies of Mcl-1 and Bcl-2 dual inhibitors. It was found that a protruding carbonyl group forming hydrogen bond with R263 plays a predominant role compared with the hydrophobic group that occupies the p2 pocket. A series of dual inhibitors representing different parts of the morpholino-1H-phenalene were designed, synthesized and evaluated.

- SYNTHESIS OF BAPTA-AM ANALOGUES CAPABLE OF ENHANCING THE VASCULAR PRODUCTION OF PROSTACYCLIN
-
About 30 analogues of BAPTA-AM, a potential antithrombotic agent, have been synthesized and tested for their effect on the production of prostacyclin.None of them was found to be a better enhancher of the production of prostacyclin by aortic endothelial cells than BAPTA-AM itself. The enhancing effect can be produced by compounds unable to chelate Ca2+, thus confirming that it is not related to their buffering capacity for free Ca2+.
