The invention relates to the technical field of organic light-emitting materials, in particular to a polycyclic aromatic compound and a preparation method thereof, a light-emitting material, a light-emitting layer and an organic electroluminescent device. The polycyclic aromatic compound is selected from a compound shown in the following structural formula or a tautomer thereof, wherein the ring D and the ring E are respectively and independently 5-8-membered nitrogen-containing heteroaromatic hydrocarbon rings, Z1-Z11 are respectively and independently selected from C or N, the ring C can exist or does not exist, and the ring A and the ring C are respectively and independently selected from any one of substituted or unsubstituted aromatic ring groups, substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl groups and substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic ring groups. According to the invention, the single-triplet state energy range is relatively small, and the efficiency roll-off of the organic electroluminescent device can be reduced.
