- Preparation method of imidacloprid

The invention relates to a preparation method of imidacloprid. The preparation method comprises the following steps: adding N-nitroiminoimidazolidine, 2-chloro-5-chloromethylpyridine, a solvent and acatalyst into a container, stirring and heating the above added substances, extracting hydrogen chloride, generated by a reaction, under a negative pressure, absorbing the hydrogen chloride by water to prepare hydrochloric acid, separating the solvent under a negative pressure after the reaction, and adding a part of water to recrystallize in order to obtain original imidacloprid. The method has the advantages of simplicity in operation, high yield, production of the hydrochloric acid as a byproduct, low cost, greenness and environmental protection.
