- Microstructure and magnetic properties of colloidal cobalt nano-clusters
-
The magnetic response of nanometer sized Co nanoparticles (NP) prepared using reverse micelle solutions are presented. The use of complementary structural and morphological probes (like transmission electron microscopy, high resolution electron microscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy) allowed to relate the magnetic properties to the size, morphology, composition and atomic structure of the nanoparticles. All data agree on the presence of a coreshell structure of NPs made of a metallic Co core surrounded by a thin Co-oxide layer. The coreshell microstructure of NPs affects its magnetic response mainly raising the anisotropy constant.

- Linear coordination polymers based on aluminum phosphates: Synthesis, crystal structure and morphology
-
Several aluminum tris(diorganophosphates) have been synthesized and characterized via elemental analysis, NMR, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy, as well as powder XRD, and SEM. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the aluminum tris(diethylphosphate) crystal structure comprises two crystallographically nonequivalent catena-Al[O2P(OEt)2]3 chains propagating along the c-axis. Their parallel orientation favors the formation of closely packed hexagonal domains. PXRD data suggest that other homologues have a similar structure, with the interchain distance closely corresponding to the dimensions of organic ligands. They are also susceptible to a reversible dissociation to ionic species under the effect of primary amines. This feature can be utilized for the synthesis of epoxy nanocomposites. The Royal Society of Chemistry.

- Homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction of metal ions with non-fluorinated bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate ionic liquids having a lower critical solution temperature in combination with water
-
Ionic liquids with an ether-functionalised cation and the bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate anion show thermomorphic behaviour in water, with a lower critical solution temperature. These ionic liquids are useful for homogeneous liquid-liquid extraction of first-row (3d) transition metals.

- Process for obtaining a butadiene homopolymer in the presence of monoolefin(s) with 4 carbon atoms
-
A process is described for obtaining a 1,3-butadiene homopolymer by the reaction of a catalytic system in the presence of 1,3-butadiene and one or more monoolefin(s) with 4 carbon atoms. This catalytic system is based on at least: a conjugated diene monomer, an organic phosphoric acid salt of one or more rare earth metals, said salt being in suspension in at least one inert, saturated and aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon solvent, an alkylating agent of the formula AlR3 or HAlR2, where R is an alkyl group, and an alkylaluminum halide halogen donor.
