- Synthesis and properties of glycerylimidazolium based ionic liquids: A promising class of task-specific ionic liquids

A series of task-specific ionic liquids (TSILs) based on glycerylimidazolium cations have been prepared by reaction of 1-chloropropanediol, a compound obtainable from glycerol (a widely available and in-expensive waste product), with the appropriate base (1-H-imidazole, 1,2-dimethylimidazole and 1-methyl-1-H-imidazole). The reaction of 3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propane-1,2-diol with chloroalkanes, bromoalkanes and alkyl mesylates gave the corresponding salts which were characterized. The possibility to use these ILs in palladium catalyzed reactions was evaluated, evidencing good catalyst stability and a high recyclability.

- Method for alkylating N1-position of imidazole compound

The present invention relates to a method for alkylating an N1-position of an imidazole compound and belongs to the technical field of organic synthesis. The method comprises the following steps: mixing an imidazole compound and carbonic ester with a molar ratio of 1:(1-2), conducting a heating reaction under a temperature of 80-140 DEG C under presence of aromatic hydrocarbons or a dipolar aprotic solvent and a strongly basic organic tertiary amine catalyst, and after reaction, directly conducting vacuum distillation or layering, and conducting vacuum distillation to obtain a N1 alkylated imidazole compound. The raw materials used in the method are non-toxic or low-toxic, the process is simple, reaction conditions are mild, and yield is high; and by-products in the reaction process are extremely few, environmental pollution is extremely small, and the preparation method is green and environmentally-friendly.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel imidazole alcohol compound that adheres strongly to metal surfaces in metal products, especially copper, aluminum and steel products, and that has a superior rust-preventive effect even in a thin film, and a surface-treating agent using the same. The novel imidazole alcohol compound is expressed by the following general formula (1) show a rust-preventive effect. (In general formula (1), R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, a vinyl group or an alkyl group with 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an aromatic ring may be formed by R2 and R3, X indicates hydrogen, an alkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a substituent group which may contain N or O, m indicates an integer from 0 to 20, and n and 1 indicate integers from 1 to 3.) The above-mentioned imidazole alcohol compound can be produced by reacting an imidazole compound and an epoxy alcohol compound.
