- A family of hexanuclear lanthanide complexes with slow magnetic relaxation for Dy6 cluster
-
A family of isostructural, hexanuclear lanthanide complexes [Ln6(L)4(μ3-OH)4(CH3OH)2(NO3)2] (Ln?=?Gd (1), Tb (2), Dy (3), Ho (4), Er (5), H3L?=?1,3-bis(4-methoxysalicylideneamino)-2-propanol) were obtained by the reactions of Ln(NO3)3 with the selective ligand. Complexes 1–5 were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, IR spectra, and powder X-ray diffraction analyse. The molecule structure of these complexes contains a Ln6O6 core ligated by two trinuclear subunits. Direct-current (dc) magnetic susceptibility studies reveal the antiferromagnetic interactions between Lanthanide ions. The in-phase (χ′) and out-of-phase (χ″) signals have been observed below 10?K in complex 3, indicating slow relaxation of the magnetization. The deduced effective energy barrier (Ueff/kB) and relaxation time (τ0) are 6.17?K and =4.9?×?10?5?s, respectively.

- The synthesis and crystal structure of a dinuclear μ-pyrazolato-N,N′-bridged dinickel(II) complex of 1,3-bis(2-hydroxy-4-rnethoxybenzylideneamino)propan-2-ol
-
The asymmetric unit of crystal of the title compound, [Ni2(L)(C3H3N2)] (L = 1,3-Bis(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylideneamino)propan-2-ol, C3H3N2 = pyrazolate) contains two independent dinickel(II) complexes. In both molecules, the nickel(II) ions are bridged by the alkoxo group of the ligand and the N atoms of the pyrazolate group. Each nickel(II) ion is coordinated by two N and two O atoms, forming a square with trans-N2O2 geometry.

- Synthesis, characterization, crystal structure, magnetic studies of a novel polymeric zig-zag chain copper (II) complex
-
A single crystal of copper (II) complex (1) has been synthesized and its crystal structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The complex crystallizes in orthorombic space group Pnma, with unit cell dimensions a = 9.8944, b = 25.2972, c = 7.4457 ?, β = 90. Structural analysis of (1) shows that the Schiff base ligand coordinates toward one metal atom in a pentadentate mode and each Cu atom is six-coordinated. The aliphatic oxygen atom of Schiff base ligand links the [CuL] moieties and creates polymeric zig-zag chain structure. In addition, magnetic susceptibilities for complex (1) have been measured over the temperature range 2-300 K and the magnetic parameters have been determined with fitting procedure. Magnetic measurements on (1) reveal the presence of antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between Cu(II) ions in the dimeric unit via bridging oxygen atoms of pentadentate Schiff base ligand.
