 Calcium Bromide (CAS NO.7789-41-5) can be used in medicine and photography. It can be found in drilling fluids, neuroses medication, freezing mixtures, food preservatives, photography and fire retardants.

Calcium Bromide Production

Calcium bromide have properties stmtlar to those of calcium chloride (CaCl2). They are prepared by the action of the halogen acids (HX) on calcium oxide or calcium carbonate.
             CaO + HX → CaX2 + H2O
where X is bromine (Br) or iodine (I).
