Coal tar Specification

The Coal tar, with the CAS registry number 8007-45-2, is also known as Picis carbonis. It belongs to the product category of UVCBs-organic. Its EINECS number is 232-361-7. Its classification codes are: (1)Anti-eczematic [topical]; (2)Dermatologic Agents; (3)Keratolytic agents; (4)Mutation data; (5)Skin / Eye Irritant; (6)TSCA UVCB; (7)Tumor data. It should be sealed and stored in a cool and dry place. Moreover, it should be protected from oxides. Coal tar is a brown or black liquid of extremely high viscosity, which smells of naphthalene and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is among the by-products when coal is carbonized to make coke or gasified to make coal gas. It is an antipruritic and keratoplastic agent used also in the treatment of psoriasis and other skin conditions. This chemical is sometimes used for heating or to fire boilers as it is flammable.
