Specification
Cyclohexene (CAS NO.110-83-8) is also named as 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydrobenzene ; 3,4,5,6-Tetrahydrobenzene ; 4-05-00-00218 (Beilstein Handbook Reference) ; AI3-03146 ; BRN 0906737 ; Benzene tetrahydride ; Benzene, tetrahydro- ; Benzenetetrahydride ; CCRIS 8739 ; Cyclohex-1-ene ; Cykloheksen ; Cykloheksen [Polish] ; HSDB 1624 ; Hexanaphthylene ; NSC 24835 ; Tetrahydrobenzene . Cyclohexene (CAS NO.110-83-8) is colourless liquid. It is insoluble in water. Inhalation of high concentrations may have a narcotic effect. Cyclohexene is highly flammable. Cyclohexene may react vigorously with strong oxidizing agents. May react exothermically with reducing agents to release hydrogen gas. In the presence of various catalysts (such as acids) or initiators, may undergo exothermic addition polymerization reactions. Oxidizes readily in air to form unstable peroxides that may explode spontaneously. May cause toxic effects if inhaled or absorbed through skin. Inhalation or contact with material may irritate or burn skin and eyes. Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Vapors may cause dizziness or suffocation. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may cause pollution. Will be easily ignited by heat, sparks or flames. They will spread along ground and collect in low or confined areas (sewers, basements, tanks). Vapor of Cyclohexene explosion hazard indoors, outdoors or in sewers. Runoff to sewer may create fire or explosion hazard. Containers may explode when heated.
