    (1890–1967). A Czechoslovakian physiochemist who won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1959. He is known for work in electrochemistry. He developed polarographic and oscillo-polarographic methods. Although his Ph.D. was from the University of Prague, he later studied in London.
