A class of thermoplastic resins or viscous liquids of amber color, obtained by polymerization of turpentine in the presence of catalysts such as aluminum chloride or mineral acids. The resins consist essentially of polymers of α- or β-pinene and are soluble in most organic solvents.

Use:

Paints, rubber plasticizers, curing concrete, impregnating paper, adhesives, hot-melt coatings, pressure-sensitive tapes.
