Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by 2-Bromo-ethylamine; hydrobromide. This reaction will need reagent Et₃N and solvent CHCl₃. The reaction time is 2 hours. The yield is about 53%.

Uses of Ethane,1-bromo-2-isothiocyanato-: it can be used to produce 2-(4-Methoxy-phenoxy)-4,5-dihydro-thiazole. It will need solvent benzene with reaction time of 3 hours. The yield is about 61%.
