Uses of Zinc diethyl dithiocarbamate : (1) It is mainly used as an ultra accelerator for natural rubber and synthetic rubber, especially for butyl rubber, EPDM rubber and latex. (2) It is also an analytical reagent.

Preparation of Zinc diethyl dithiocarbamate : First, Sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate is prepared by reaction of condensation by carbon disulfide with diethylamine . Then, Zinc diethyl dithiocarbamate is obtained by replacement reaction of zinc sulfate (or zinc chloride) with Sodium dibutyldithiocarbamate .
