(ꢃ)-27. Compound (ꢃ)-4 (100 mg, 0.41 mmol), acetic acid (51 mg,
0.82 mmol), N,N0-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (160 mg, 0.82 mmol)
and 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (50 mg, 0.41 mmol) were mixed
together in dichloromethane (20 mL) at 0 ꢀC under constant stirring
for 3 h. Then the reaction mixture left under stirring for 3 days at
room temperature. The crude material was filtered and the filtrate
evaporated to dryness. The resultant material was chromato-
graphed (silica gel, ethyl acetate/dichloromethane 1:9) to afford
(ꢃ)-27 (102 mg, 75%) as a white solid: mp 127e129 ꢀC; Rf (20%
EtOAc/CH2Cl2) 0.39; IR (neat) nmax 2917, 2850, 1753, 1488,
mun. 2000, 273, 681e685.
