Isoniazid Uses

 Isoniazid (CAS NO.7640-37-1) is the first-line antituberculosis medication in prevention and treatment. It is the most potent and selective of the tuberculostatic antibacterial agents.

Isoniazid Production

 Isoniazid may be prepared by the base hydrolysis of 4-cyanopyridine to give the amide, followed by displacement of ammonia by hydrazine:
