A combination of N-(trimethylsilyl)dimethylamine and MeI was also effective to give p-methylbenzoic acid with a 85% yield based on 90% conversion from the corresponding Me ester. DETA has been treated with N-(trimethylsilyl)-dimethylamine to yield mono-, di- and tri- silylated derivatives
