Sodium cyclamate has moderately toxic by intravenous and intraperitoneal routes. Mildly toxic by ingestion. Experimental reproductive effects. Questionable carcinogen with experimental neoplastigenic, tumorigenic, and teratogenic data. Human mutation data reported. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Na2O, SOx, and NOx.

Specification

 Sodium cyclamate is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids and strong bases. It is also incompatible with nitrites in acid solution. And it has only limited compatibility with potassium salts .
