Salicylaldoxime (94-67-7) can be used for determination as reagents of platinum, copper, zinc, copper nickel.
Take Salicylaldehyde to be dissolved in Sodium hydroxide solution, and adding Hydroxylamine hydrochloride . Have the mixture heated in water bath for half an hour, and then using glacial Acetic acid to neutral. Ice bath cooling, and then have re-crystallization of Benzene, and with Petroleum ether having a small amount of benzene for being recrystallized, at last we get the product: Salicylaldoxime (94-67-7).
