Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by silica powder and chloromethane at the temperature of 300 °C. This reaction will also need catalyst copper.
Uses of Silane, chlorodimethyl-: it can be used to produce 2,6-bis-dimethylsilanyl-pyridine by heating. It will need reagent Mg and solvent tetrahydrofuran with the reaction time of 3 hours. The yield is about 61%.
