DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) L-glutamine-K tetrochloroplatinate (II) complex, L-glutamine-K tetrachloropalladate(II) complex, L-serine-K tetrachloroplatinate (II) complex, and glycine-K tetrachloroplatinate (II) complex, showed antileukemic activity in mice, but K tetrachloroplatinate (II) [10025-99-7] and K tetrachloropalladate [10025-98-6] were ineffective. Apparently, the antitumor activity is produced by the complex species formed from the amino acids and the metal salts.

- Magnetic circular dichroism and electronic states of tetrachloroplatinate(II) and tetrachloropalladate(II) ions. Nakayama, Kazuhiko; Komorita, Takashi; Shimura, Yoichi (Fac. Sci., Osaka Univ., Toyonaka 560, Japan). 10025-98-6 and 10025-99-7 are also occured in this study. Bull. Chem. Soc. Jpn., 57(4), 972-9 (English) 1984. CODEN: BCSJA8. ISSN: 0009-2673. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 73 (Optical, Electron, and Mass Spectroscopy and Other Related Properties) The magnetic CD (MCD) spectra of K2PtCl4 and K2PdCl4 were carefully remeasured over the visible-near-UV region. The examn. of the electronic absorption and the MCD spectra together with their gaussian analyses strongly suggests that the band of K2PtCl4 at 30.3 ′ 103 cm-1 contains both G5(1Eg) and G3(1B1g) ?G1(1A1g) transitions, and the band of K2PdCl4 at 21.1 ′ 103 cm-1 all 3 spin-allowed l-l transitions. The sepn. of the G1(1A2g) and G5(1Eg) excited states is considerably greater for K2PtCl4 as compared with K2PdCl4. The MCD for the high-intensity absorption bands in K2PtCl4 is different from that reported previously. On the basis of new MCD result, the bands at 43.3 and 46.6 ′ 103 cm-1 were assigned to d-p transitions, a2u(pz) ?a1g(dz2) and eg(dxz,yz), resp. .
