The resulting soln. was coated onto glass fibers, which were embedded in std. epoxy rods to give samples that exhibited dry and wet shear strength 10.12 .times. 103 and 8.27 .times. 103 psi, resp., compared to 8.52 .times. 103 and 6.50 .times. 103 psi, resp., for similar samples contg. fibers coated with a I-HOAc-A-187 silane-water compn. .
