A comparative study of laboratory methods for the preparation of arabic acid
A comparative study of laboratory methods for the preparation of arabic acid. Balabanova-Radonova, E.; Khristova, P. (Dep. Org. Chem., High Inst. Chem. Technol., Sofia 56, Bulg.). Carbohydr. Polym., 4(2), 85-8 (English) 1984. CODEN: CAPOD8. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 44 (Industrial Carbohydrates) The pptn. of acidified or NaCl-treated solns. of gum arabic [9000-01-5] with HCl-EtOH, HCl-Me2CO, NaCl-EtOH, NaCl-Me2CO, AcOH-EtOH, or AcOH-Me2CO gave arabic acid [32609-14-6] in 3.0-54.0% yield. The no.-av. mol. wt. [(1.7-1.9) ′ 105] of the pptd. acid was similar to that of the gum, indicating that pptn. 32609-14-6 and 9000-01-5 are just another two chemicals used in this study. does not involve fractionation. .
Monitoring and control of the deoxidation of low-carbon rimming steel
Monitoring and control of the deoxidation of low-carbon rimming steel. Ivanchev, I.; Simeonov, S.; Pirlov, S.; Radonov, L. (VKhTI, Bulg.). Metalurgiya (Sofia), 38(7), 1-3 (Bulgarian) 1983. CODEN: MTIAAZ. ISSN: 0543-5838. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 55 (Ferrous Metals and Alloys) Changes in O activity in molten low-C rimming steel 08 kp [11103-16-5] in an O converter, steel-teeming ladle, and molds were studied. After deoxidn. of steel with ferromanganese [12604-53-4] and Al, the content of dissolved O in the ladle was beyond the optimal range (0.028-0.045%) required in casting. 7782-44-7 and 7429-90-5 are also in the experiment. Stabilized metal oxidn. was attained by sep. tapping of metal and slag from the converter. A proper dosage of deoxidants for prepn. of ingots with the optimal structure was calcd. by equations taking into account the O activity, and the nomogram was plotted. .
