When transfected into COS monkey cells, this clone directs the synthesis of a T-cell, mast cell, and B-cell stimulatory factor. The B-cell activities establish that this factor is identical to B-cell stimulatory factor-1. 102188-79-4 and 102619-80-7 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. The properties of the recombinant protein establish the existence of a T-cell/mast cell-stimulatory factor distinct from IL-2 and IL-3. The functional cDNA is approx. 600 base pairs long and encodes a primary translation product of 140 amino acids. .
