An amt. of 10 mg of 95% enriched 194Pt was irradiated for 75 h in the hydraulic conveyer of the KUR Kyota University reductase at a thermal neutron flux of 8.1 ′ 1013 neutrons/cm2/s and the 195mPt-labeled DWA2214R was purified using HPLC. The chem. yield is >65%, its chem. purity is >99.2%, the radiochem. purity is nearly 100%, and the specific activity is 6.7 MBq/mg DWA2114R. .

The UV spectra of the DNAs treated with these Pt complexes exhibited both bathochromic shift and hyperchromicity, showing a binding of Pt to the heterocyclic groups of these DNA as well as an alteration in the secondary structure of DNA. The reaction rates of the Pt complexes with DNA, however, differed from one another, and the order was CDDP, TDDP, I ? DWA2114R, DWA2114S > CBDCA.
