Lebensm.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 105-21-5 and 695-06-7 may be metioned in this study., 8(3), 91-2 (German) 1983. CODEN: CMTLBX. ISSN: 0366-7154. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) In a synthetic liq. nutrient broth, the basidiomycete P. durus has an intensive arom.-fruity odor, resembling coconut. Among the volatile metabolites identified by gas chromatog., coupled gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry, and sniffing anal., g-octalactone [104-50-7] was the main compd. (7.4 mg/L); other volatiles like g-hexalactone [695-06-7], g-heptalactone [105-21-5] and a no. of unidentified compds. with g-lactone character occurred in smaller amts. .

- Fruit volatiles inhibitory to Monilinia fructicola and Botrytis cinerea. Wilson, Charles L.; Franklin, Jerry D.; Otto, Brian E. (Agric. Res. Serv., USDA, Kearneysville, WV 25430, USA). Plant Dis., 71(4), 316-19 (English) 1987. CODEN: PLDIDE. ISSN: 0191-2917.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 100-51-6 and 108-29-2 are used in this study. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Sixteen volatile compds. occurring naturally in fruits were tested for their effects on spore germination and growth of M. fructicola and B. cinerea. Nine of these compds. (benzaldehyde [100-52-7], benzyl acetate [140-11-4], benzyl alc. [100-51-6], d-decalactone [705-86-2], g-caprolactone [695-06-7], g-decalactone [706-14-9], g-octalactone [104-50-7], methyl salicylate [119-36-8], and g-valerolactone [108-29-2]) greatly inhibited spore germination of both fungi at 1250 mL/L. Benzaldehyde totally inhibited spore germination of B. cinerea at 25 mL/L and germination of M. fructicola at 125 mL/L. Three of the compds. (benzaldehyde, Me salicylate, and Et benzoate) completely inhibited growth of M. fructicola and B. cinerea at 370 mL/L. Et benzoate was fungicidal against M. fructicola and fungistatic against B. cinerea, whereas Me salicylate and benzaldehyde were fungicidal against both fungi. .
