- Removal of odorous aromatic amine environmental pollutants by chloramine-T. Trieff, Norman M.; Ramanujam, V. M. Sadagopa (Dep. Prev. Med. Community Health, Univ. Texas Med. Branch, Galveston, Tex., USA). Bull. Environ. Contam. Toxicol., 18(1), 26-8 (English) 1977. CODEN: BECTA6. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 59 (Air Pollution and Industrial Hygiene) Chloramine-T (I) [127-65-1] is an effective scrubbing agent for removal of arom. amine pollutants from air and water. Odor anal. of p-chloro- [106-47-8], p-bromo- [106-40-1], and p-nitroaniline [100-01-6] and the products of their reaction with I showed that in each case the odor threshold diln. of the reactant was greater than for the corresponding product. Although I reacted more slowly than HOCl, I is substantially more stable and can be stored without significant decompn.
- Synthesis and optical properties of a new series of side-chain poly(amic acid)s with p-p conjugation
- Li, Najun; Lu, Jianmei; Yao, Shechun (Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Suzhou University, Jiangsu 215006, Peop. Rep. China). Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 206(5), 559-565 (English) 2005 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA. CODEN: MCHPES. ISSN: 1022-1352. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) After the condensation polymn. of benzoguanamine (BGA) and pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) under microwave irradn., the resulting p-p conjugate poly(amic acid) was grafted via the azo coupling reaction. The obtained side-chain polymers were further grafted with TDI-aliph. alc. derivs. and TDI-aniline derivs. The third-order NLO coeff. and response time of PAA and graft polymers were measured by degenerated four wave mixing (DFWM) technique and their fluorescent properties were also investigated. All of the graft polymers have larger NLO coeffs. and film-formability than PAA. Their fluorescent properties were also changed by the different electronic effect of the side-chains. The influences of the introduction of side-chains, the side-chain length and the electronic effect of the substituting groups on the azobenzol side-chain to both optical properties of the polymers by varying the conjugation degree were investigated.
