Org. Chem. Org.-Chem. Technol., Tech. Univ. Graz, Graz, Austria). Makromol. Chem., 178(6), 1699-706 (German) 1977. CODEN: MACEAK. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) 1,4-Polybutadiene [9003-17-2] was aralkylated with p-MeC6H4F [352-32-9], o- [95-49-8], m- [108-41-8], and p-MeC6H4Cl [106-43-4], p-BrC6H4Me [106-38-7], 2-chloro-p-xylene [95-72-7], and 2,4- [95-73-8] and 3,4-dichlorotoluene [95-75-0] in the presence of dicumyl peroxide [80-43-3]. The IR spectra of the products were detd., and the polymers were metathesized by 4-octene [592-99-4] and the products identified by gas chromatog.-mass spectroscopy. Aralkylation was accompanied by methylation.

CODEN: EPXXDW.In this article, certain chemicals are used. Some of their cas registry numbers are 108-90-7 and 108-88-3 CLASS: IC: C07C025-02; C07C017-38. APPLICATION: EP 83-201043 13 Jul 1983. PRIORITY: IT 82-22405 15 Jul 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 45 (Industrial Organic Chemicals, Leather, Fats, and Waxes) A process for the sepn. of o-chlorotoluene (I) [95-49-8] from p-chlorotoluene (II) [106-43-4] is described in which a I-II mixt. is passed in vapor phase through a column of zeolites (esp. zeolite CaX) adsorbent followed in turn by toluene [108-88-3] and PhCl [108-90-7] in the vapor phase for 2-stage desorption. Thus, 66 mL liq. 1:1 I-II mixt. was fed (during 20 min) in the vapor phase at 230° to a column contg. 1050 g zeolite CaX at 230°, followed in turn by streams of toluene (for 10 min) and PhCl (for 60 min) vapor at 230°. II left the column first and was considerably enriched. .
