II 160, methylolated melamine 150, p-C9H19C6H4(OCH2CH2)9OH 2, HOCH2CMe2NH2.HCl 40, and 30% hexamethylolmelamine pentamethyl ether-stearic alkanolamide condensate 20 g/L, followed by heating at 80-160.degree., gave material having 0 s burning time and 10.5 cm tearing length (DIN 53906, vertical test) after one wasah and 0 s and 13.5 cm, resp., after 40 washes; hand was only slightly stiffer (1 vs. 0) than that of untreated fabric. .
