The polymn. yield decreased with increasing concn. of PCl3. The effect on the rate of polymn. decreased through the series PCl3, PhPCl2, and Ph2PCl. The chain transfer consts. calcd. for PCl3, PhPCl2, and Ph2PCl were 4.75 .times. 10-2, 1.16 .times. 10-1, and 1.54 .times. 10-1; Q values were 5.80 .times. 10-4, 7.89 .times. 10-3, and 1.14 .times. 10-2, and e values 4.71, 2.56, and 2.45 (all pos.) resp.

II (15.51 g) was polymd. 5.0 h at 165.degree. to yield 73% polymer [63101-41-7], m. 122-43.degree., with mol. wt. 54,500.Some commonly used reagents like 63084-46-8 is used in this experiment. Pyrolysis of 3 g polymer at 500.degree. produced a gas contg. 305 ppm CO. No mortalities were obsd. in rats subjected to the thermal degrdn. products. .
