DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The kinetics of pinazepam [52463-83-9] were studied in healthy volunteers after a single oral 10-mg dose. Plasma levels of pinazepam were fitted to a 2-compartment open model with 1st order absorption rate using a 3-exponential equation. The absorption rate const. and peak plasma levels of pinazepam were 1.36 and 36.8 ng/mL, resp. Plasma decay of the drug consisted of an initial rapid elimination phase (a = 0.46/h) followed by a slow one (b = 0.046 h). N-Desmethyldiazepam [1088-11-5] was the only metabolite detected in the plasma; its plasma concns. were higher than those of the parent compd. shortly after administration. Urine collected 72 h after drug administration contained unconjugated pinazepam and N-desmethyldiazepam, oxazepam glucuronate [6801-81-6], and 3-hydroxypinazepam glucuronate [62488-23-7]. Only 0.016% of the pinazepam administered was recovered as the unchanged compd. in the urine. .

CODEN: 50PQAK. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The results obtained on the detn. of diazepam [439-14-5], demethyldiazepam [1088-11-5], and clobazam [22316-47-8] by a radioreceptor method are discussed. Comparisons are made with high-performance liq. chromatog. for the detn. of benzodiazepines in plasma. Other anal. methods for the detn. of these drugs are reviewed. .
