CODEN: YKSNDQ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 59 (Air Pollution and Industrial Hygiene) Section cross-reference(s): 80 MeNH2 (MMA) [74-89-5], Me2NH (DMA) [124-40-3], and Me3N .(TMA) [75-50-3] in air were detd. by gas chromatog. using 4 different columns; ASC-L for column I, Amipack 124 for column II, 5% Squalane [111-01-3] + 2% KOH on Chromosorb 104 [39429-20-4] for column III, and 15% diglycerol [59113-36-9] + 5% tetraethylenepentamine [112-57-2] on Chromosorb W + DMCS for column IV. Column I was suitable for sepn. of the 3, II for MMA, III for DMA, and IV for TMA. The method enables detn. of TMA from an 1-L air sample from a fish waste processing plant environment, and the TMA level was 6.9, 26, and 89 ppb for 3 sep. samples. .
- Changes in organic constituents in river water during incubation
- Changes in organic constituents in river water during incubation. Matsumoto, Genki (Fac. Sci., Tokyo Metrop. Univ., Tokyo 158, Japan). Water Res., 17(12), 1803-10 (English) 1983. CODEN: WATRAG. ISSN: 0043-1354. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 61 (Water) A water sample from Tama River in the Tokyo was incubated 29 days in dark conditions at 25 ± 3° to det. the extent and rate of the degrdn. of org. constituents and changes in their compn. The majority (>95%) of n-alkanes, fatty acids, and sterols were degraded, although total org. C (TOC) and EtOAc-extractable org. C (EOC) remained in considerable amts. (>23;). The degrdn. of org. constituents occurred apparently in 2 or 3 steps. The rate consts. for the degrdn. of TOC, EOC, hydrocarbons, fatty acids and sterols for the 1st step were 0.090/day, 0.18/day, 0.082/day, 1.4/day, and 0.23 day, resp. The relative abundances of total fatty acids and sterols as TOC(EOC) decreased remarkably during incubation (0-11 days) from 7.18 to 0.28% and 0.46 to 0.07%, resp. (31.2-2.2% and 2.0-0.6%, resp.), whereas those of hydrocarbons were not significantly changed.Except for chemicals metioned above, 474-62-4 and 111-01-3 are also used. .
