DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 22 (Physical Organic Chemistry) The 29Si- and 13C-NMR chem. shifts in substituted vinylsilanes CH2:CHSiMe(3-n)Rn (I; R = Cl, Et, Me3CO, Me3SiO; n = 0 to 3) and allylsilanes CH2:CHCH2SiMe(3-n)Rn (II) were detd. The .pi. electrons of the CH2:CH group in I are delocalized toward the Si atom; the other substituents on Si influence this delocalization by their inductive effects and their own ability to supply unshared electrons to Si. In II, Si is less shielded and the olefinic C atoms are more shielded that in I. .
