Most insecticides were more toxic to the maize weevil than the lesser grain borer, except azinphos methyl [86-50-0], chlorfenvinphos [470-90-6], carbaryl [63-25-2], methomyl [16752-77-5], decamethrin [52918-63-5], fenvalerate [51630-58-1], and permethrin [52645-53-1], which showed the opposite effect. Etrimfos [38260-54-7] was the most toxic (LC50 0.56 ppm), and carbaryl the least toxic (LC50 1088 ppm) against the corn weevil. 29232-93-7 and 16752-77-5 are also in the experiment.
