The compn. was packaged in an aerosol container with 42 g CCl3F and 28 g CCl2F2. When sprayed on an armpit, the compn. kept the pH of the evapd. sweat at 4.9 and prevented odor formation.

The buffer and aldehyde intercepting reagent can be the same compds., such as 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol (I) [77-86-1] or 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol [115-69-5]. Before use, the compn. was mixed with 13.5 mL H2O. To conduct the test, 0.1 mL blood serum or saliva was dild. with 4.9 mL H2O, and 0.1 mL of the dil. soln. was mixed with 2.6 mL reagent soln., heated 8-10 min at 30°, and analyzed by UV spectrometry at 340 nm.
