HSiMeEt2 at 100-175° for 20 h, using a Co2(CO)8-PPh3 catalyst, to give 73-100% disiloxycyclopentenes I, II (X = Et2SiMeOC:COSiMeEt2), and III. This ring expansion is novel. The synthetic use of this reaction was illustrated by hydrolysis of II (R2 = R3 = H, X = Et2SiMeOC:COSiMeEt2, X1 = CH2CH2), to give benzindenone II (R2R3 = bond, X = COCH2). .
- Adsorption of methyl methacrylate-vinylferrocene copolymers at the solution/solid interface
- Adsorption of methyl methacrylate-vinylferrocene copolymers at the solution/solid interface. Diaz-Barrios, Antonio; Rengel, Aristides (Cent. Quim., Inst. Venezolano Invest. Cient., Caracas 1010-A, Venez.). J. Polym. Sci., Polym. Chem. Ed., 22(3), 519-31 (English) 1984.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 109-99-9 and 67-66-3 are used here. CODEN: JPLCAT. ISSN: 0449-296X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Physical Properties of Synthetic High Polymers) Random Me methacrylate-vinylferrocene copolymer [35139-58-3] with various compns. was synthesized and characterized. Their adsorption from PhMe [108-88-3] and CHCl3 [67-66-3] was measured onto pyrogenic silicas. The level of adsorption depended on the solvent, the surface area of the adsorbent, and the copolymer compn. An inverse adsorption-soly. relation for PhMe and CHCl3 was obsd. However, in solvents, such as THF [109-99-9], 2-butanone [78-93-3], and cyclobutanone [1191-95-3], which had strong interactions with silica, this trend was not evident. The compositional dependence of the adsorption in PhMe and CHCl3 was similar. Initially, adsorption tended to increase with vinylferrocene (I) content, and, at equimolar copolymer compns., the adsorption reached a max. which was followed by a decrease in the adsorption values at high I contents. Gel-permeation-chromatog. measurements showed that the high-mol.-wt. polymer was preferentially adsorbed. .
