Evaluation of aroma deterioration in sweet orange oil on the basis of gas-liquid chromatographic analysis
Evaluation of aroma deterioration in sweet orange oil on the basis of gas-liquid chromatographic analysis. Pino, J.; Duran, M. (Cent. Nac. Invest. Cient., Havana, Cuba). Proc. Int. Soc. Citric., Volume Date 1981, 2, 918-20 (English) 1983. CODEN: PICIDM. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 62 Samples of sweet orange oil were held in the dark at 30-70° for 1-8 days and analyzed by gas chromatog. and sensory scores. Twenty compds. in 15 chromatog. peaks were used for multiple regression anal. Sensory quality could be linearly related to instrumental anal. Oxidn. aroma in the oil was detected at concns. of: trans-1,2-epoxylimonene [1195-92-2] 0.62, cis-2,8-p-menthadien-1-ol [3886-78-0] 1.04, trans-2,8-p-menthadien-1-ol [7212-40-0] 0.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 7212-40-0 and 1197-06-4 75, carvone [99-49-0] 1.08, and cis-carveol [1197-06-4] 1.36%. .
Toxicity of substances in pine oleoresin to southern pine beetles
Toxicity of substances in pine oleoresin to southern pine beetles. Coyne, J. F.; Lott, L. H. (Southern Forest Exp. Stn., Forest Serv., Gulfport, Miss., USA). J. Ga. Entomol. Soc., 11(4), 301-5 (English) 1976. CODEN: GENSAB. ISSN: 0016-8238. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Section cross-reference(s): 11 Of 16 pine oleoresin and oxidn. products components tested, L-limonene [5989-54-8] and limonene monoxide [1195-92-2] showed the highest toxicity to Southern pine beetle (Dendroctonus frontalis) adults, in terms of mean lethal times, and limonene dioxide [96-08-2] and l-3-carene [13466-78-9] in terms of LDso values. Resistance of some pines to the beetle might be explained by the presence of these components.
