CLASS: IC: C09J003-14. ICA: C08L023-16; C08L023-22; C08L053-00. APPLICATION: JP 82-187344 27 Oct 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 38 (Plastics Fabrication and Uses) Section cross-reference(s): 39 The title compns., which cure to form bonds with good heat resistance, comprise a hot-melt adhesive from diene block copolymer and/or isobutylene-isoprene copolymer [9010-85-9] 100, a vulcanization accelerator 0.1-10, and a tackifier 10-400 parts and another hot-melt adhesive from ethylene-propylene copolymer [9010-79-1] and/or atactic polypropylene [9003-07-0] 100, S 0.1-20, and a tackifier 10-400 parts. Thus, TR1107 (block isoprene-styrene rubber) 100, Arkon P100 60, Escorez 5300 60, Nocceler DM [120-78-5] 2, and Nocceler BZ [136-23-2] 2 parts were mixed to prep. one adhesive, and EPT 0045 (ethylene-propylene rubber) 100, Arkon P 100 70, Escorez 5300 70, HV 100 20, and powd. S 5 parts were mixed to prep. another adhesive. The adhesives were then kneaded together and extruded into test pieces, which showed good hardness and heat resistance.
- Studies on bonding rubber to metallic zinc
- Studies on bonding rubber to metallic zinc. (III). The effect of accelerators on adhesion of NR with cobalt salts to zinc plate. Ashida, Michio; Nakatani, Masaya; Takemoto, Yoshitaka; Goto, Makio (Fac. Eng., Kobe Univ., Kobe 657, Japan). Nippon Gomu Kyokaishi, 57(9), 544-52 (Japanese) 1984. CODEN: NGOKAF. ISSN: 0029-022X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 39 (Synthetic Elastomers and Natural Rubber) Vulcanization and adhesion of natural rubber compds. contg. Co naphthenate (I) or cobalt stearate (II) [13586-84-0] to Zn plate were studied in the presence of various vulcanization accelerators. I did not affect the vulcanization acceleration by thiazole- and sulfenamide-type accelerators, while thiuram- and dithiocarbamate-type accelerators reacted with I, losing their acceleration capabilities. However, when S content was increased, a weak acceleration by excess I resulted. Vulcanization by 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (III) [149-30-4] gave the highest adhesion at vulcanization temp. <150°, while at >160° the adhesive strength decreased with increasing vulcanization time. This adhesive strength decrease was more severe with CBS [95-33-0] than with III. The adhesive strength was in the order of MBTS [120-78-5] > III > 2-mercaptothiazole zinc salt [21396-97-4]. Zinc dimethyldithiocarbamate [137-30-4] gave sufficient adhesive strength at high S content, while no adhesion was obsd. in the presence of diphenylguanidine [102-06-7]. At vulcanization temp. 160°, addn. of I or II resulted in decreased polysulfide crosslinks and increased monosulfide crosslinks. The Zn surface with good adhesion contained ZnO, ZnS, and ZnSO4 in :15 ratio, while the surface with poor adhesion contained ZnO and ZnS in ratio (ESCA).
