- Study of the mechanical strength of a series of catalysts for intensive oxidation in a steam-gas phase. Veber, N. V.; Tabachkova, S. I.; Kundo, N. N.; Simonov, A. D.; Starostina, T. G. (USSR). Zh. Prikl. Khim. (Leningrad), 50(5), 1061-4 (Russian) 1977. CODEN: ZPKHAB. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 60 (Sewage and Wastes) Section cross-reference(s): 67 Using a catalyst, wastewaters were purified by thermal catalytic oxidn. of the org. constituents. The prodn. catalysts studied included GIPKh-105 [12018-10-9] (CuCr2O4), NTK-1 [59029-91-3] (Zn-CuCr), NTK-4 [59029-92-4], CuO, CuCr2O4, and CoCo2O4. The industrial catalysts were roasted at 750-800.degree. for 14 h, and their loss in strength was listed. Also examd. were changes in the catalyst mech. strength during heating to 300-400.degree.. The NTK-1 retained only 33-40% of its initial strength after 80-110 h of service, the CuCr2O4/.gamma.-Al2O3 retained 68-70%, and the CuO/Al2O3 showed practically no change. The effect of water vapors on catalytic activity and wt. loss in the purification process at 350-400.degree. was also studied. Generally, catalytic activity was not reduced by HCl vapors, but the NTK-1 lost 17.6% of its wt. during 23 h of service and the CuCr2O4 with .gamma.-Al2O3 lost 1-2% during 57-68 h.

- Magnetic properties of nickel copper chromite (Ni1-xCuxCr2O4) (0 £ x £ 1) compounds. Dubey, B. L.Several substances are used for example 12018-18-7 and 12018-10-9 which are their cas registry numbers.; Nath, N.; Tiwari, B. N.; Tripathi, A. (Dep. Chem., Gorakhpur Univ., Gorakhpur 273 001, India). Bull. Mater. Sci., 5(2), 153-61 (English) 1983. CODEN: BUMSDW. ISSN: 0250-4707. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 77 (Magnetic Phenomena) Magnetic susceptibility was measured at 300-900 K at 10 kOe. All the products show ferrimagnetic behavior with the ferrimagnetic Curie temp. (Tc) 50-150 K. The Curie temp. increases when Cu(II) ion is substituted for Ni(II) ion in NiCr2O4. The exptl. values of the av. effective magneton no. (p) agree with theor. values. .
