Grain orientation in sol-gel derived Ln2Ti2O7 ceramics (Ln = La, Nd)
Grain orientation in sol-gel derived Ln2Ti2O7 ceramics (Ln = La, Nd). Prasadarao, A. V. 12031-47-9 and 12035-31-3 are also occured in this study.; Selvaraj, Ulagaraj; Komarneni, Sridhar; Bhalla, Amar. S. (Mater. Res. Lab., Pennsylvania State Univ., University Park, PA 16802, USA). Mater. Lett., 12(5), 306-10 (English) 1991. CODEN: MLETDJ. ISSN: 0167-577X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 57 (Ceramics) Sol-gel derived La2Ti2O7 and Nd2Ti2O7 exhibited preferential grain orientation on sintering. The extent of orientation is quantified in terms of the Lotgering orientation factor from the x-ray diffraction intensities of pellets sintered at different temps. The microstructural studies indicated extensive orientation with sintering and also a change in morphol. of the grains from acicular to large platelets. .

Tela (Leningrad), 19(3), 935-7 (Russian) 1977. CODEN: FTVTAC. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 77 (Magnetic Phenomena) Low temp. susceptibility and magnetization of Nd2Ti2O7 and Nd2TiO5 were measured. Magnetic susceptibility in the range 1.6-70.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 12035-31-3 and 12058-94-5 may be metioned in this study.degree. K was measured from the magnetization isotherms detd. by the induction method in the fields of up to 5 KOe. The compds. remain paramagnetic down to 1.6 K. In Nd2TiO5 of orthorhombic symmetry internal cryst. field splits the 10-fold degenerate ground state of free Nd3+ ion in such a way that the distances between the levels are not so large as in Nd2Ti2O7, and when temp. changes from 1.6 to 70.degree. K, all the sublevels of the main multiplet were populated. .
