Matrix isolation evidence for a primary CO dissociation pathway in the photochemistry of the metal-metal bonded dimers (h5-C5H5)2M2(CO)6 (M = Mo, W)
Matrix isolation evidence for a primary CO dissociation pathway in the photochemistry of the metal-metal bonded dimers (h5-C5H5)2M2(CO)6 (M = Mo, W).Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 88428-56-2 and 12091-64-4 are also used. Hooker, Richard H.; Mahmoud, Khalil A.; Rest, Anthony J. (Dep. Chem., Univ. Southampton, Southampton SO9 5NH, UK). J. Organomet. Chem., 254(2), C25-C28 (English) 1983. CODEN: JORCAI. ISSN: 0022-328X. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) Photolysis of the metal-metal bonded dimers Cp2M2(CO)6 (M = Mo, W; Cp = h5-cyclopentadienyl) in PVC-film (12-77 K) and frozen-gas (12 K) matrixes gives the novel dimers Cp2M2(CO)5, which have a structure suggested (on the basis of IR spectroscopy) to contain a 4-electron-donor, bridging CO ligand and 2 semi-bridging CO ligands. .

Roesselet, Kevin; Doan, Kate E.; Johnson, Steven D.; Nicholls, Pamela; Miessler, Gary L.; Kroeker, Roseann; Wheeler, Stephen H. (Dep. Chem., St. Olaf Coll., Northfield, MN 55057, USA). Organometallics, 6(3), 480-5 (English) 1987. CODEN: ORGND7. ISSN: 0276-7333. 106682-19-3 and 12091-64-4 which are cas registry numbers are also used here. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 29 (Organometallic and Organometalloidal Compounds) Section cross-reference(s): 75 [CpMo(CO)3]2 (Cp = C5H5) reacts with S2C2(CF3)2 in refluxing methylcyclohexane soln. to give Cp(CO)2Mo[m-S2C2(CF3)2]2MoCp (I). I loses its CO ligands on photolysis in soln. to give [CpMo(m-S2C2(CF3)2)]2 (II). I and II were characterized by 1H and 19F NMR spectroscopy, elemental anal., mass spectrometry, and x-ray diffraction techniques. Electrochem. properties of both compds. were also studied. I contains two asym. bridging S2C2(CF3)2 ligands, and both CO ligands are attached to the same Mo atom. The Mo-Mo distance suggests minimal Mo-Mo bonding. .
