- Choice of the initiating system for photochemical crosslinking of PVC compounds. Vincent, Ivo; Malac, Jiri (Vyzk. Ustav Gumarenske Plast. Technol., Gottwaldov, Czech.). Plasty Kauc., 20(12), 358-61 (Czech) 1983. CODEN: PLKCAS. ISSN: 0322-7340. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 37 (Plastics Manufacture and Processing) High effectiveness of photochem. crosslinking of PVC [9002-86-2] using a halogen discharge lamp (emission max. 400-450 nm) was obsd. 84-65-1 and 25322-68-3 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. in the presence of chlorodibenzothiopyrone (I) [90216-96-9]. Dibenzocycloheptanone [1210-35-1], benzil [134-81-6], benzoin [119-53-9], Michler's ketone [90-94-8], and 9,10-anthraquinone [84-65-1] were also effective as crosslinking initiators. Tertiary amines contg. a hydroxy group on the aliph. chain were effective in combination with I as initiators. A linear relation was obsd. between the insol. portion of the crosslinked PVC and its 100% modulus. .
